Accessibility
At Everyday Psychology, we are committed to making our services as accessible as possible. Below is important information to help you plan your visit:
-
Our office is located at 32 Princes St, Carlton North, VIC 3054.
The building entrance has a security door requiring a code to enter.
There are four steps leading up to the entrance, plus one step to enter the building; these steps do not have handrails.
We do not have a portable ramp or alternative accessible entrance available at this time.
If you need assistance entering the building, please contact us in advance so we can help arrange support.
The building is single-storey, with waiting area and therapy rooms on the ground floor.
An accessible restroom is available on site.
-
Parking:
Free parking is available directly out the front of Everyday Psychology and on surrounding streets.
Parking limits range from 1 hour to 4 hours, depending on the street.
Walking distance from parking spots varies between 5 meters and up to 100 meters.
There is generally always free parking available at all times
Public Transport:
The nearest tram stop is the number 96 tram at Alexandra Parade & Nicholson Street, about 120 meters from the practice (approx. 2-minute walk).
Alternatively, the number 1 or 6 trams stop at Princes Street and Lygon Street, about 550 meters away (approx. 8-minute walk).
-
We offer a quiet waiting area, though there is some ambient music playing in the hallway and waiting room.
Therapy rooms have adjustable lighting to support clients with sensory sensitivities.
The hallway and waiting room have overhead lighting only.
If you have specific sensory needs, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
-
The practice is within a building with a residential appearance. Some signage is present but subtle, designed to protect client privacy rather than using high-contrast or highly visible signs.
The entrance includes several steps without handrails; if you need assistance navigating these, please contact us in advance so we can provide support.
Entry requires a security code to be manually entered on a security door before accessing the property.
The waiting area is a smaller room with a coffee table in the middle, which may require careful navigation.
Therapy rooms are larger and kept free of clutter to support easy and safe movement.
If you use a cane, guide dog, or other mobility aids, please let us know so we can make suitable arrangements.
-
If you use hearing aids or have specific communication needs, please let us know in advance so we can consider how best we can support you.
While we do not have a hearing loop system on-site, our psychologists can adjust their communication style, for example, facing you directly, speaking clearly, or using written materials when needed.
During Telehealth sessions, our psychologists can use the chat feature alongside video and adjust microphone or headphone settings for clarity.
If you require an Auslan interpreter, please let us know and we will do our best to explore the possibility of this. We ask for one month’s notice to allow time to explore this arrangement.
-
All service animals are welcome at our practice.
Please inform us in advance if you plan to bring a service animal to your therapy sessions so we can ensure the psychologist you are seeing does not have any allergies or sensitivities.
-
For those unable to visit in person, we provide secure online therapy sessions so you can access support from the comfort of your home.
If you have any accessibility concerns or require accommodations, please contact us and we’ll be happy to assist.
