Meet Our Eating Disorder Team

Our team includes clinicians with specialised training and experience in treating eating disorders, including their intersections with co-occurring mental health conditions, neurodivergence, and LGBTQIA+ identities.

Tess Jennings

Registered Psychologist
  • I support adults and young people (16+) experiencing a range of mental health concerns, with additional experience in eating disorders and body-related distress. I’m particularly interested in the relationships we have with ourselves and our bodies, and how therapy can support greater acceptance and improved quality of life.

As an openly queer clinician, I work with LGBTQIA+ individuals exploring identity, internalised homophobia and transphobia, and experiences where aspects of identity, such as culture or religion, may feel complex or in conflict. I also work frequently with people navigating intersections between gender identity, neurodivergence, eating disorders, trauma, and body-related distress.

I believe meaningful psychotherapy is grounded in genuine connection, safe attachment, and deep compassion. I draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic frameworks, tailoring my approach to each client’s needs. My work is relational, warm, and collaborative. It is informed by psychodynamic and attachment-oriented ways of relating and guided by social justice principles.

I remain mindful of my positionality as a white, able-bodied, cisgender woman and aim to provide inclusive care for people who may have experienced marginalisation or harm within traditional healthcare settings.

  • Tess is an Accredited Eating Disorder Clinician and enjoys working primarily with eating disorders and their co-occurring conditions. However, Tess also supports people with a wide range of other mental health concerns.

Dr Felisha Thain

Clinical Psychologist
  • I approach therapy with curiosity, compassion, and a focus on understanding each individual’s unique journey. My goal is to work with you to explore what is getting in the way from living the life you want. I believe each individual is the expert of their own lives – my role is to help foster further awareness and provide a safe, calm and structured environment for exploring thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, as well as developing new strategies.

My work is guided by evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness and self-compassion techniques. I have a particular interest in supporting individuals with eating disorders and disordered eating, body image concerns, low self-esteem, social anxiety, panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I also offer comprehensive, evidence-based assessments for autism.

I work with adults and young people aged 18+ and am passionate about creating an inclusive space that affirms all identities, including LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent individuals. My approach is flexible, relaxed and tailored to each person’s unique needs.

Dr Ashley Kenny

Registered Psychologist
  • My goal as a psychologist is to help you identify and align with your ideal self. Collaboratively, we will explore your goals, needs, hopes, and expectations, and find a path that seeks to fulfil and empower the positive changes you want to make. I believe there are many ways to approach this in treatment, but at the centre is the relationship we build along the way.

As an integrative practitioner, I blend skills from a range of evidence-based modalities - including CBT and Mindfulness-Based Therapies - creating a unique approach tailored to you. I am a curious and reflective therapist, and I am not afraid to challenge when it feels helpful, as I believe building insight often opens the door to personal growth. I aim to offer a space for safety, vulnerability and empathy that is centred around you and your past experiences. I also bring my authentic self into the room, so alongside my professional knowledge you’ll find a sprinkle of humour, colourful pens, and any excuse to use a whiteboard.

I have a keen interest in mind–body approaches, with specialist experience in persistent pain management, adjustment to chronic health conditions, PTSD and complex trauma. I also work with a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, OCD, depression and personality disorders. I work with people aged 16 and over, including those from culturally diverse, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent communities.

Outside of work, you will likely find me at a boxing class, listening to true crime, watching movies, or out exploring with friends, and probably petting other people’s dogs. I try to live in line with my values so I can show up as my best self for each individual client.

  • In addition to these areas, Ashley also supports people with a wide range of other mental health concerns.
